The Radiance Foundation’s Statement of Faith

Statement of Faith

We love Jesus. We love God’s Word. We love to share the Savior’s redemption plan with a broken and hurting world.

The Creator

We believe that there is one God (1 Timothy 2:5), eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit as expressed in Matthew 28:19. We believe God is the Creator of the heavens and earth (Genesis 1:1-3). We believe this creation was intentional and was not left to the randomness of evolution.

The Bible

We believe the Bible to be the only Holy Spirit-inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16).

Jesus

We believe in the Divine nature of our sinless Lord Jesus Christ (2 Cor 5:21) and His virgin birth (Matt 1:18-25). Jesus is the Son of God while simultaneously being one with God (John 10:27-30). We believe in the miracles He performed and the foretold miracle of His atoning death and subsequent bodily resurrection (1 Peter 1:3) that rescued us from our sins. His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Matt 16:19) and His personal return in power and glory are affirmed by the Scriptures (Matt 24:30).

Salvation

We believe sin is rebellion against God and His laws. We have all sinned (Romans 3:23). It is what separates us from God. Salvation is only possible through Jesus Christ – the Way, the Truth, and the Life – through the confession of our sins and repentance. No one comes to the Father but through Jesus (John 14:6). We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit who dwells within each born-again Christian enabling us to live a Godly life. We believe that the saved have the reward of Heaven; the lost will be condemned, eternally, to Hell. God does not desire that any perish (2 Peter 3:9) but that “He so loved the world that He gave his only Son that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)”

Life

We believe in the sanctity of human life. We are all created fearfully and wonderfully (Psalm 139:13-16) and have no right to intentionally take the life of an innocent human being. God hates “the shedding of innocent blood. (Prov 6:16-19)” Abortion is the shedding of innocent blood.

Marriage

We believe in a God-ordained framework of marriage (Genesis 2:24) between one man and one woman. This was reiterated by Jesus in Matthew 19 along with very narrow provisions for divorce. Marriage is the spiritual representation of Jesus and the Church. Any cultural redefinition denies the very essence of marriage. Children flourish best in the biblical model of an intact family.

Sexuality

We believe in the binary gender expressed in Scripture. “So God created human beings in His own image. In the image of God He created them; male and female He created them (Genesis 1:27).” Sin, in every form, always leads to destruction (1 Timothy 1:9-12). God’s love for us transforms us, no matter the cultural confusion or chaos. Homosexuality, bisexuality, and the social contagion of “transgenderism” deny the Creator, deny His design for humanity, and deny basic biology. We are called to love every human being not every human doing.

Race

We believe there is no such thing as race. Race is a human construct that has only led to discrimination and death; it was created to categorize and separate ourselves. Racism is sin. We are created from one blood as declared in Act 17:26. We are one in Christ (Galatians 3:28) and are called to love one another (John 13:34).

Adoption

We believe adoption, in the natural and supernatural, is God’s gift to humanity. Adoption takes what is broken and brings wholeness and healing. We are adopted into God’s family; it was His plan to bring us into His family (Ephesians 1:5). It is our duty as Christians to “take care of widows and orphans” which is defined as “pure religion” (James 1:27).

Identity and Purpose

We believe that we are new creations when we come to Christ and created to worship God (Luke 4:8). The old identities pass away. We are His masterpiece, made new by Jesus Christ and created to do good works (Ephesians 2:10). We are to “go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you (Matthew 28:19-20).”
